Year 2013 is almost over - a year when Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S4, Note 3 and the imaginative Galaxy Gear - the wonder wrist watch.

But what about the year 2014? Is Samsung bringing out something sensational to be in a dominating competition with Apple? Well it looks as if the Samsung's 2014 flagship Galaxy S5 has something to counter Apple's Touch ID.

The specs leaked at ZDNet Korea show some features that are most likely to be incorporated in the Galaxy S5. The most prominent among all is an Apple’s Touch ID like fingerprint-sensing Home button with its own iris scanner. Well, this would be a big achievement if it comes to be true.

The iris verification technology acquired by Samsung Electronics has been known via Korea’s Patent Office. It is patent technology that allows the user to open the phone via reflecting user’s iris.

Other than the fingerprint sensor, the leaked information talks of a quad-HD and 2,560 x 1,440 display and QHD resolution that is higher quality than full HD. It may be added that presently high quality resolution used by smart phones in full HD resolution is 1920 x 1280 - that means the QHD resolution will be at least 4x than the normal HD resolution.

Well that is what rumours leak - we shall wait and see what Samsung finally unveils at Mobile World Congress (MWC).
