It has been reported by Reuters that Google Inc will launch the next generation Nexus 7 tablet around July this year.
The nexus 7 is likely to be powered by Qualcomm Inc's Snapdragon processor.
This is the first time details about the timing and sales targets for Google's new tablet have been unveiled, although the company has not publicly released any information.
The sources providing the information with knowledge of the new product also report that Google is aiming to ship as many as eight million of the Asustek-made tablets in the second half of the year, throwing down the gauntlet to other low-end tablets such as Amazon.com Inc's Kindle Fire and Apple Inc's iPad mini.
As for the pricing, Google may choose to sell the new gadget for $199 - this very low price tag is to keep Google's products competitive vis-a-vis Apple's products, specially the forthcoming Apple's new iPhone. Even the cheapest Apple iPad Mini costs more than $300.
So this is good news to devour upon, till it really materializes in July as reported.
