When Mozilla announced on 22 April that its its Firefox OS developer smartphone will go on sale yesterday via Geeksphone, even Mozilla did not have the idea how the customers would react.
And when the Geeksphone put the first Firefox OS developer smartphone on sale, the retailer went out of stock within hours - as if they were selling one pound fish.
The retailer offered two versions of the Firefox OS phones, Keon and Peak. Keon is the low-end version priced at $119,which come in orange color and features a 3.5-inch HVGA screen, 1GHz Snapdragon S1 processor, 4GB internal storage with an expandable MicroSD card slot, 512MB of RAM, and a 3MP rear-facing camera.
Whereas the Peak, priced at $195 and available in white color, packs in a 4.3-inch qHD IPS display, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 8MP rear-facing camera, 2MP front-facing camera and rest are the same as Keon.
Well this is good omen for Mozilla and when it launches its Firefox OS handsets in June, it can be rest assured of a similar response as was seen yesterday.
